Volunteer for the ASBC iCan Bike Clinic 2020
Interested in being a volunteer to work with a participant at the ASBC iCan Bike 2020 Clinic?
Volunteers must be:
- at least 15 years old
- physically able to assist a participant while learning to bike, swim or dance
- able to attend a one hour orientation and volunteer training session the afternoon or evening before the program starts
- able to attend a 15 minute volunteer meeting immediately followed by your assigned 45 to 75-minute session each of the five days of the program (Monday through Friday)**
If you meet the above criteria, we would love to have your help in making a difference in someone’s life!
We need a minimum of 10 volunteers per session for 5 sessions. We would like volunteers to commit to attending the same session for all five days. The riders make more progress if they can count on the same volunteer supporting them. It is amazing to watch the riders progress throughout the week. You don’t want to miss your rider when they ride independently for the first time! **However, we understand that this is a time commitment, and If you can’t volunteer all five days, we appreciate any time you can contribute** This is a great volunteer opportunity for high school clubs, spiritual groups, businesses or sports leagues who are looking for a chance to give back as a group. If you’re looking for an amazing volunteer experience where you see an immediate impact, please join us!
Check-in Assistants – Good role for 2 people to assist with check-in of riders & volunteers, distribute t-shirts, daily set-up and other assigned tasks (e.g., helping implement motivational techniques for distracted riders). This is a good role for teenagers interested in volunteering that are under 15 years old.
